I bought this chair for a recent trip to the Jersey Shore. It is not your average beach chair. It is wider, and has a higher back than any other chair I have used. I am 6′-4″ and weigh near 300 pounds. This chair was both comfortable and sturdy. The pillow on the backrest actually hits the back of my head, not the back of my neck on most shorter chairs.
The chair has a cutout built into one armrest that seems to be in a strange place when the chair is open on the beach. But fold it up and that cutout is exactly in the correct place to carry the chair. The placement of the cutout was obviously thought oot, because the chair is then balanced and it makes the chair easy to carry.
The wood armrests are polished nicely and wide enough to feel more generous than other lower quality chairs. The cupholder is small, but it was the perfect size to stick my iPod Video so it wasn’t sitting in the sand.

The chair is great. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because of a small little flaw. The cup holder is to small. A can fits perfect, but if you want to use a coozie, for get it. Otherwise, it is very attractive and a very well built chair.

this chair is nice and wide, very comfortable to sit or recline. Not perfect, but pretty good for lying on your stomach. The only thing missing is a shoulder strap for carrying it.

I really like this chair and expect it to continue to meet my expectations for many summers.

This is the worst purchase I’ve ever made online…my husband hurt his back because the chair would not lock in place and crashed backwards into the sand. the locks on the arms of the chair are made of plastic not metal. I tried to send them back to Camping Station but the cost from UPS was $357.00 for packaging and shipping the chairs only cost $49.95 a piece…never again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
